Valentine's Day 2024

Hi Reader!

Valentine's Day is fast approaching! Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Or are you more of a fan of Galentine's Day?

Honestly, we don't really celebrate it in our house. We already have leftover candy from Christmas that we didn't eat and we all have allergies, so we don't like fresh flowers in the house. We're also still broke from Christmas, so that's a hard "skip" for us.

But my daughter does a "Galentine's Day" celebration with her friends here and she has some really cute ideas I thought I would share.

These are also really cute things you could do with your gal pals, little kids or adult kids alike.

Here they are:

1. Make a heart-shaped pizza for dinner! My daughter used some Pillsbury pizza crust, rolled it out on a cutting board in the shape of heart. They added pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and she bought some pepperoni's, olives, pre-cooked sausage crumbles and a couple of other veggie toppings for her vegetarian friends and baked it according to the instructions on the Pillsbury package. They also made sure the cheese was nice and melty. They turned out so cute!
2. Chocolate covered strawberries with sprinkles were a huge hit! She bought some pink chocolate melts and strawberries. She melted the chocolate on the stove, because those chocolate fountain things are a big old mess, and then they decorated them with ​Fancy Sprinkles​. (We love these by the way, for everything!) 3. Paint! Last year she bought some cute bird houses with a heart cut out from the dollar store. She's 22 and on a budget, so for her 4 friends, it didn't break the bank. She also found some fairly inexpensive red, pink and white paint and some paint trays and they spent some time painting while they sipped their super cute bubbly drinks!
4. Another plug for Fancy Sprinkles... They sell edible sparkles that you can put in the bottom of your white wine, bubbles or any clear cocktail (or mocktail)! We had pink, so she simply sprinkled them in the bottom of the glass and then poured. She also had some "chunky" sprinkles that she put on the rim of her champagne coupes. She used a bit of vanilla frosting and dipped the side of glass in the sprinkles and voilà! You can also use a bit of honey or simple syrup to do the whole rim of the glass.
5. Last, but not least, to make it festive, she got some cute heart shaped confetti, a red tablecloth and mylar balloons, all from the dollar store, to add some extra sparkle and fun.
